2026 Charities
The Filò Gala is a fundraiser for Villa Marconi and a selected local charity that directly supports women and families in Ottawa. Every year sponsors generously contribute silent auction items, swag bag items and/or cash donations which are used to raise money from the hundreds of women attending the Gala.
Villa Marconi is a long-term care facility primarily engaged in serving the interest of the Italian seniors no longer able to live at home. Our long-time support of Villa Marconi is to honour the immigrants, our grandparents, great-grandparents and parents, who sacrificed so much to build lives in Ottawa.
This year our selected charity is Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa.
Through innovative home construction, repair, and financing, skills training and advocacy, Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. For over 30 years, Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa has been the only local charity that works directly with the community to provide a sustainable path to homeownership. Together, safe, decent, and permanently affordable homes are built, giving families a real opportunity to build generational wealth and break the cycle of housing instability.
Habit Ottawa also operates one of Ottawa’s largest and longest-running social enterprises, the ReStore, a local department store destination for affordable, high-quality furniture, home décor, clothing, and building materials. They also accept donations of new and gently used home goods from the public and corporate partners. All profits generated go directly back into Habitat Greater Ottawa thereby helping more families access safe and decent housing.

Cornerstone Housing for Women is dedicated to serving adult women who are experiencing homelessness in Ottawa.
Our emergency shelter, which recently expanded to 150 beds plus 15 overflow spaces, provides immediate relief to those in crisis. In addition to our shelter, we also have four supportive housing communities—Princeton, MacLaren, Booth, and Eccles—together, these communities are home to 150 women. Each night, we support more than 300 women across Ottawa.
Our commitment extends beyond providing immediate shelter. Our service model is centered on meeting each individual where they are in their housing journey and working towards their unique goals. Through our outreach program, we offer ongoing support and case management to women who have transitioned out of our shelter, to help them achieve long-term success in housing.
We have more than 130 staff and almost 200 extraordinary volunteers who provide on-site support and refer women to local resources. Over the past year, we provided more than 200,000 nourishing meals across all of our programs.
